Going Batty

This week we have been studying bats. In the class we created a bat habitat and learned how bats fly at night. Ask your child to tell you what they have learned.

Jack-o-lantern

Students created a Jack-o-Lantern by designing a pumpkin with familiar shapes. They wanted me to incorporate a hexagon, octagon, pentagon and parallegram but I just could't accuratly cut the shapes out. Wow! I am impressed with how much they have learned.

Estimating

Students were learning to estimate, by bundling groups of ten and then comparing the size of the bundle to the entire group.
